Getting Started with AutoMod
Everything you need to invite AutoMod, configure its permissions, and turn on your first plugins.
Invite AutoMod to your server
Click the button below and pick the server you want to set up. AutoMod requests the permissions it needs to moderate, manage roles, and post messages up front, so you won't need to grant anything extra later.
Add to DiscordOpen your dashboard
Once AutoMod is in your server, head to the dashboard to configure it. Every plugin lives in the sidebar, grouped into a few categories so you can find what you need quickly. Here's a preview:
Open DashboardPosition AutoMod's role
Discord only lets a bot act on members and roles below its own highest role. Right after inviting AutoMod, open Server Settings → Roles and drag the AutoMod role near the top, above any role you want it to mute, kick, ban, or manage.
Turn on your first plugins
AutoMod ships with dozens of plugins, but you don't need all of them on day one. These four cover the basics for most servers. Click through to see how each one works:
- Moderation: Automatically filter spam, bad language, and invite links, with escalating punishments.
- Welcomer: Greet new members with a custom message and hand out roles automatically.
- Custom Commands: Build your own slash commands without writing code.
- Levels: Reward active members with XP, levels, and role rewards.
Explore Premium (optional)
Everything above works on the free plan. If you outgrow the free limits later (more custom commands, a custom bot identity, AI moderation, and more), Premium unlocks it server-wide.
You're all set
That's the core loop: invite, permission, configure, repeat for whichever plugins your server needs. The tutorials below dig deeper into specific features.
